Paul Miller explains the Digital Workplace

I love how the internet works. Person A in your network posts about something, it leads you to read that something, which leads to another link, then to another connection Person B… repeat.

This morning that little “diving down the rabbit holes of social media land” (think Alice in Wonderland) I found a GEM! Paul Miller and his book/thoughts on DIGITAL WORKPLACES! (and it turns out one of our speakers Andy Jankowski knows him well!) small small world.

If you want to understand how important this shift is to a DIGITAL WORKPLACE, watch the video below and understand very quickly why this is not about a battle between the digital and the physical workplace- this is the greatest fundamental shift in our economy and business leaders who get this will be one step ahead of their competitors.

This is the kind of thing we are talking about at Impact99. As Michael Brito our opening keynote for Oct 2 Vancouver event says, Social Business is about people + process + technology. It’s about what goes on behind the firewall as much as what goes on with the customer. You can dive deeper into that concept on his blog but Michael “gets it” the same way Paul does. We need to re-think EVERYTHING about the workplace in a digital world.

Impact99 is a Summit that brings together progressive HR & Business leaders who want to better understand what this “Digital” or “Social” workplace looks like and how it impacts every aspect of their employee experience. It’s a conversation, a debate, a think tank, an experience, a chance to hear firsthand what’s happening and make sense of it as it relates to YOUR business.

This is why we limit the seats.

This is why we create an interactive small group learning atmosphere.

This is why our keynote speakers spend the day with us and don’t just waltz in and out.

This is why this event is as much about the people you meet as it is about the information you learn.

So if you had any doubts that the social workplace or “digital workplace” as Paul Miller calls it nothing short of transforming EVERYTHING about how we work, watch this and then …. watch it again or pass it on.

Paul Miller is a technology and social entrepreneur. He is CEO and Founder of the Digital Workplace Forum and CEO and Founder of the Intranet Benchmarking Forum (which this June celebrates its 10th anniversary); described by Oracle as “phenomenon in its industry”. He has been at the heart of the work and technology revolution for the last 20 years.

Looking forward to continuing this discussion with you in person this October at Impact99! in the meantime, I am counting the days until my Paul Miller book arrives in the mail from Amazon!
Christine
